About
Meet Matt and Dan. Two college guys who thought they had it all figured out in college. Dan has been running a company since 2005, and Matt has steadily pursued real estate, and has taken active roles in the organizations he joined in Columbus. Now it is time to see if we’re really ready for the real world, and to find out what that really means.
For most, college is one of the first times we are left on our own to contemplate our future, shape our present, and reflect on our past. Decisions are crucial, crossroads are bountiful, and the future still remains largely unknown.
The Big Transition is here to provide a key alley in negotiating the path from college student to real-world citizen, from two twenty-something’s who are making this conversion with you. Our posts, our advice, our insights are not the typical “know-all” approach our older generations have taken, rather an in-step observation of the process. We hope to be a place of encouragement, a voice of reassurances, and a guiding hand in not only making this transition, but positioning yourself to fit right in.
Matt Goldberg:
Matt, 22, originally from New Jersey, is currently attending The Ohio State University. Finally making the switch from architecture major to construction management, Matt is able to sit back, breathe, and invest in his future with substance. In addition to being a full time student, Matt was President of his Fraternity, sits as a Board of Trustee member of the local Hillel chapter, and volunteers regularly throughout Columbus, OH.
Dan Healy:
Dan Healy is 22 years old. He graduated from The Ohio State University in June 2008 with a degree in Marketing. In 2005 Dan started his first company called Sloopy Holdings Unlimited. SloopyMenus is an online menu guide that allows students and faculty at OSU to view restaurant menus, bar specials, and order food online from the greater Columbus area. He oversees sales and marketing and new Business Development. Dan also gives guest speeches to business and entrepreneurship classes at Ohio State, and consults his clients while continuing to manage his company.
In 2007 Dan cofounded the blog, The Big Transition with a close friend, and college fraternity brother. The blog focuses on the transition between college and the “real world.” After college, Dan joined the Brazen Careerist team, overseeing advertising sales, and sponsorships.
Dan’s personal interests include travelling, golf, reading and family.
